The Defence Headquarters issued an order to the criminal elements and bandits causing fear throughout the nation, telling them to either surrender to the army or face possible devastation.
According to the DHQ, the forces will continue to exert tremendous pressure on the terrorists, just as they had been doing in the numerous theatres of operations.
Maj. Gen. Buba Edward, Director of Defence Media Operation, on Friday, made a statement that included this information.
“The armed forces will continue to apply strong military pressure such as has been witnessed in the week. The terrorist and their cohorts would continue to suffer heavy casualties. It is in their interest to surrender as being done in the NE of the country to avoid eventual destruction.”
“The operations of the last one week, resulted in 50 neutralized terrorists with 122 of them arrested. Troops also arrested 49 perpetrators of oil theft and rescued 182 kidnapped hostages. “
He said that N128 million worth of crude products had been found among oil thieves in the South-South area.
