Woli Arole kicks against “I prefer to cry in a Lamborghini” as he cautions Nigerians to stop glorifying wealth at the expense of peace of mind.
Following actress Regina Daniels’ marital drama with her billionaire husband, the comedian and content creator took to social media to criticize the popular saying, “I prefer to cry in a Lamborghini than smile in a Marwa.”
According to Arole, such a mindset is misleading and dangerous. He emphasized that the pain behind luxury can last a lifetime.
He wrote:
“I prefer to cry in a Lamborghini than smile in a Marwa — it’s a useless statement. Don’t say it with people o! Your cry in a Lambo can be for a lifetime. Think it twice.”
This is not the first time Woli Arole has spoken up about issues affecting society. Just a few weeks ago, he warned men against receiving oral sex, stressing that sex is spiritual and that such acts could have spiritual consequences.
He also advised people to build genuine relationships before seeking help, noting that many often reach out only when they need favours. “You don’t talk to someone for months, then suddenly ask for help, that’s not how life works,” he said in a previous post.
In another message, Arole addressed “woke” women who opt for surrogacy despite being medically fit to carry pregnancies. He reminded them that it is a divine privilege to bear children naturally and cautioned against allowing modern trends to override spiritual wisdom.
He also condemned the Imbe Challenge, a viral skit trend mocking children with Down Syndrome. Describing it as “appalling and distasteful,” Arole urged creators to show empathy instead of chasing clout.
Arole didn’t stop there. In one of his earlier posts, he sent a word to Nigerians in the diaspora, urging them to remain humble. Sharing a personal encounter, he narrated how someone bragged about returning from America, and he replied confidently that he lives in Nigeria and is doing just fine.
