Ciro Immobile of Lazio injured

Lazio striker, Ciro Immobile, has been involved in a car accident involving a tram, according to reports from the Italian media.

The 33-year-old was driving with his two daughters in Rome when the collision happened on Sunday morning. The trio are said not to have suffered any serious injuries.

Immobile and his daughters have been taken to the hospital and are understood not to be seriously injured. Corriere dello Sport says Immobile hurt his arm, had a bloody hand and may have fractured his shoulder.

The report also claims that Immobile told people at the scene that the tram went through a red light and then made contact with his vehicle.

He said, as seen in videos posted on social media-

“The tram went through a red light. Luckily I’m fine, my arm just hurts a little.”

Immobile also accompanied the injured person to the ambulance, asking about their condition.

The incident comes just two days after Immobile ended his six-game goal drought by scoring a penalty in Lazio’s 3-0 victory over struggling Spezia. The result lifts the Rome giants to second in the league table,  14 points behind Napoli.

Immobile is renowned as one of the greatest goalscorers in Serie A history, with 192 strikes in 314 games. Consequently, his team will be hoping he is available to feature in their next fixture coming against Torino next weekend.
