Veteran Nollywood actress Ireti Doyle says social media is too toxic for her quiet soul as she opens up about taking another break from the online space. After a month-long absence, the actress returned to Instagram, reflecting on peace, solitude, and protecting one’s mental space in an increasingly chaotic world.

In her recent post, Ireti Doyle shared that she had often wondered what life would be like after her children left home. Now an empty nester, she admitted that she finds herself withdrawing more often, as both social media and the world at large have become overwhelming for her spirit.

She wrote:

“I used to wonder what I’d do with myself once I became an ‘empty nester’.
Now I know.
Had to disappear again…
The streets of SM (nay, the world in general) are becoming too toxic for my quiet soul.
How have you been? I hope you’re protecting yourself.
Peace. EmptyNest. AnotherSoloTrip. Abundance. Ease. Flow.”

Before her brief hiatus, the screen goddess had reflected on her early days in Nollywood, sharing a throwback photo from her first movie set. She described her career journey as “diverse and colourful,” a testament to her years of hard work and versatility in the industry.

Ireti Doyle has also previously spoken about a near-death experience involving carbon monoxide poisoning. She recounted how she was found unconscious in her car, with blood trickling from her nose, and credited divine intervention for saving her life.
