Kano: Police Parade 96 Suspected Criminals Ahead of May 29

Ninety-six accused criminals who were terrorising the state capital and its surroundings have been detained by the police in Kano State. This was made known by the state’s chief of police, CP Mohammad Usaini Gumel when the accused were paraded at the command’s Bompai, Kano, headquarters.

He said that this was part of measures to efficiently police the State and ensure a smooth transition.

Gumel stated that a total of 96 individuals were detained for crimes ranging from drug and alcohol misuse to abduction. The crimes also included armed robbery, theft of motor vehicles and mobile phone robbery.

In his opinion –

“Some of the exhibits recovered include three Locally Made Guns, some deadly fabricated weapons, four Motor Vehicles, two Tricycles, six (6) Motorcycles, one Roll of Power Cables, two Plasma TVs, one Air Conditioner, two Jerricans of 25litres of Palm Oil, one Gas of Cylinder, one Ceiling Fan, Wrist Watches and twenty-eight (28) peg-irons symbol in the cemetery for grave identification”.

He was grateful for the prayers, support, encouragement, understanding, and collaboration of the wonderful people of Kano State.

Additionally, CP Gumwl urged the state’s excellent citizens to keep up the good work. He urged them to uphold the law and always be security-conscious.

He stated that following investigations, the suspects will appear in court.
