Kanye West Donda Academy

Recently, a lawsuit filed by two former employees of Kanye West’s Donda Academy has revealed some bizarre policies and practices in the private school created by the rapper as a tribute to his late mother. According to TMZ, the school allegedly fed its students a diet of only sushi, with no outside food or drink allowed except for water.

The Kanye West Donda Academy students were prohibited from using utensils or forks. Chairs were banned, with standing, stools or foam cushions being the only options. The school’s second floor was also off-limits due to West’s “fear of stairs.”

Additionally, the school has reportedly never hired a nurse or janitorial services, and there were no trash bins available. Medications were stored without any supervision over expiration dates. The students were required to wear black from head to toe and were banned from wearing Nike or Adidas. They were also allegedly locked inside during the school day. Bullying and physical assaults against peers were also common, with weak laws and a lack of punishment for abuse against teachers.

The unnamed plaintiffs were allegedly the only two Black teachers at the academy. They were fired after threatening to expose the school’s unsanitary practices.
