NRenowned Nigerian actor Kunle Afod recently took to Instagram to express his heartfelt tribute to several beloved Nollywood stars who have passed away in recent years. In his post, Afod criticized the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) for omitting the names of these late actors from their ceremony, leaving fans puzzled about the reasons behind such exclusions.

Afod created a poignant video collage to commemorate these departed actors’ memory. In addition, the tribute featured their images, honoring their contributions to the Nigerian film industry. The revered names in the tribute included Racheal Oniga, Lari Williams, Dejo Tunfulu, Orisabunmi, and Baba Suwe. Others included Osmond Gbadebo, Tafa Oloyede, Moji Olaiya, Adebayo Faleti, Saint Obi, Alafin Oro, and Murphy Afolabi.

In his caption, Kunle Afod expressed his disappointment in the AMVCA for their oversight, stating,

AMVCA omitted most of them yesterday for reasons best known to them… But we remember you and your works speak for you. Rest in heroes.”
