Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, unveils four freshly built jetties on Wednesday, vowing to serve Lagosians “to the best of our ability” in his second term. The new jetties include the Ijegun-Egba jetty, the Ilashe jetty in Amuwo-Odofin, the Isalu-Ajido jetty, and the Marina-Badagry jetty.

The governor, who spoke during the launching of the Ilashe jetty, vowed not to take the loyalty and support of his administration for granted, adding that.

“we will serve you to the best of our ability and deliver more dividends of democracy in our second term that will commence on Monday next week”.

According to the governor,

“the jetty being inaugurated today is in furtherance of our commitment to promote water transportation as a key component of our inter-modal and integrated transportation system.

The Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, represented Sanwo-Olu at the Ilashe jetty, and the Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Kabiru Ahmed, described him at the Ijegun-Egba jetty. Sanwo-Olu assured Lagosians of his determination to complete all ongoing construction of new jetties. He emphasized that “we will also not relent in providing necessary equipment and sustaining enforcement of regulation to ensure safety on our waterways.”
