Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has taken shots at his senior colleague, Zlatan Ibile. During an interview on Echo Room, Portable dismissed Zlatan’s relevance in the music industry, questioning his impact and describing him as an “up-and-coming artist.”
The Zazu crooner claimed his car dealer advised him not to respond to Zlatan, arguing that the rapper was only using him for clout. Portable also alleged that wealthy individuals don’t recognize Zlatan’s music due to his style.
Zlatan is an upcoming artist. My car dealer told me I shouldn’t have answered him because he just wants to chase clout with my name. He even said he doesn’t know his songs,” Portable stated.
He further accused Zlatan of betrayal, questioning why he shared a video of Sam Larry attacking him.
The rift between Portable and Zlatan escalated after Portable accused him of sabotaging his relationship with Davido. Portable claimed that while he was in the U.S. seeking an international collaboration, Davido invited him to hang out. However, Zlatan allegedly warned the Unavailable singer to be cautious around him.
In June, Portable also called out Davido for misleading him about record label deals. He claimed Davido, who is signed to Sony Music, advised him to reject Sony and opt for Empire instead.
Tensions between them worsened when Davido unfollowed Portable on Instagram. Enraged by this, Portable declared that if Wizkid had featured him, he wouldn’t need Davido’s validation.
With his latest remarks, Portable has once again set the internet buzzing, reigniting drama in the Nigerian music scene.
