Sad Juventus player after a defeat Serie A: Juventus Handed 10-point Deduction

An Italian court investigating the club’s transfer dealings has handed Juventus a 10-point deduction.

The expected consequence of last month’s decision was the new decision. The Collegio di Garanzia, the highest sporting court in Italy, overturned the Italian FA’s punishment for financial rules violations against Juventus. The Italian FA announced the punishment in January, which included a 15-point deduction in the standings.

The official ruling read as follows:

The Federal Court of Appeals hereby absolves Pavel Nedved, Paolo Garimberti, Assia Grazioli Venier, Caitlin Mary Hughes, Daniela Marilungo, Francesco Roncaglio, and Enrico Vellano from the alleged offences and imposes a 10-point deduction on Juventus in the standings, to be applied for the current season.”

The decision is a massive boost for AC Milan as they are now in the top four, which means Champions League qualification.

The announcement came on Monday just as the club was about to kick off their match at Empoli.

Before the new ruling, Juventus were in second place behind Serie A champions Napoli with 69 points but dropped to seventh place with three games remaining.
