Magistrate Adeola Olatubosun, who is handling the Seun Kuti trial was absent from the Yaba Magistrate court in Lagos state on May 23. Consequently, the court postponed the case.

No reason was provided for the magistrate’s absence.

Seun Kuti appeared for the trial, but authorities later transferred him to the police station at Panti when they discovered the magistrate’s absence. The Magistrate has adjourned the case until Wednesday, May 24.

Last week, the police requested an extension of the remand order for Seun until May 23. He is currently facing trial for assaulting a police officer on the Third Mainland Bridge, as shown in a circulated video.
