Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will slug it out with Argentina in the Round of 16 of the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

The game comes up on Wednesday, May 31, inside the Estadio San Juan del Bicentenario.

Nigeria qualified via the beat loser spot after finishing third in their group that of Brazil, Italy and the Dominican Republic.

The Flying Eagles soared in the first two games overcoming Dominican Republic 2-1, defeating Italy 2-0, before losing 2-0 to Brazil in their final group game.

Argentina finished top in Group A with nine points from three games.

In their first game against Uzbekistan, Argentina won 2-1 and beat Guatemala 3-0 before beating New Zealand 5-0.

The last time the Flying Eagles faced Argentina at the U-20 World Cup was in the Netherlands’ final of the 2005 edition.

A brace from Lionel Messi sealed a 2-1 win for Argentina against Nigeria.

Argentina is the most successful nation at the FIFA U20 World Cup with six titles, and they will be favourites against a Nigerian side that has conceded three goals in three games.
