Mohbad, a former signee of Naira Marley, tweeted a clip of his song ‘Ask About Me’, scheduled to be released on April 14, 2023. The song’s lyrics appear to ridicule the disabilities of Jigan Babaoja, a famous Yoruba movie star. Consequently, Jigan Babaoja has threatened to sue Mohbad for this action.
“Temurege bi Jigan. Ese Jigan o to le”, he sang.
The offensive lyrics offended Babaoja, and he threatened to sue the singer for defamation.
Sharing a video of the snippet playing in his car via his Instagram page, Jigan wrote,
“I am taking this up against @iammohbad and I am going to charge him 100 million! This will sound a big lesson to others!”.
As of the time of reporting this story, Mohbad had yet to respond to the threat.
This is not the first time the actor has threatened to sue a singer for making fun of his disability in song lyrics. Last year, Jigan Babaoja threatened to sue Asake for mocking his inability to walk in one of his songs.
However, Babaoja did not take any legal action against the YBNL artist.
