Manchester City legend Yaya Toure believes that Pep Guardiola’s side could experience a slight drop in form during the 2023-2024 Premier League season. Toure also likened Barcelona’s 2009 treble-winning team, of which he was a member, to Man City’s 2023–2024 campaign.
Man City’s 2022–2023 season saw them win the treble, making it their best ever.
In addition to defeating Manchester United in the FA Cup final and Inter Milan in the Champions League final, the Citizens overcame Arsenal to win the Premier League title.
“We won everything and then we had a bit of a downfall. But that is normal for human beings, you have to have the right motivation. Sometimes it is the leader, the head coach.
“We tried to put the same commitment and desire in again because it’s not easy to repeat. It’ll be difficult but [Manchester] City already has the experience of winning the [Premier] league year after year,” Toure told Daily Mail.
