In a resounding victory, Wataru Endo has secured the title of Liverpool’s Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Month for December.
The midfielder, who joined the club from VfB Stuttgart in August, outshone his peers in a fan poll on Liverpoolfc.com, beating out Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah for the coveted award.
Endo’s standout performances in all eight of Liverpool’s December fixtures undoubtedly contributed to his triumph. Starting with a crucial cameo in the thrilling 4-3 comeback against Fulham, where he scored a memorable goal, Endo continued to impress in subsequent victories against Sheffield United, Crystal Palace, West Ham United, and Burnley.
Speaking at the AXA Training Centre, the 30-year-old expressed his joy, saying, “December is a very important month, also for me, because we had so many injured players, and I knew I needed to show why I’m here.”
Endo’s impactful contributions have solidified his place in Liverpool’s midfield, earning him praise from fans. As he heads to join Japan for the AFC Asian Cup, Endo reflects on a month filled with challenges and successes, embodying the spirit of Liverpool’s resilient play.
