Nigerian skitmaker and activist, Mr Macaroni, has launched a scathing attack on President Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, for labeling social media as a menace.
Sharing old tweets from Gbajabiamila’s past where he criticized previous governments using social media, Mr Macaroni accused him of hypocrisy, noting the sudden change in attitude now that he holds a position of power.
In his fiery social media posts, Mr Macaroni condemned the government’s dismissive attitude towards the suffering of Nigerians and urged Gbajabiamila to focus on fixing the economy instead of attempting to silence dissenting voices on social media.
This is not the first time Mr Macaroni has taken a stand against government actions. Previously, he had called out the First Lady of Nigeria, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, for ordering the arrest of an undergraduate over a tweet deemed slanderous. Mr Macaroni criticized the First Lady for using her influence to oppress citizens and highlighted the double standards in handling criticism compared to previous administrations.
Mr Macaroni’s activism has not come without risks. He has faced numerous threats to his life, particularly for not supporting a particular presidential candidate. Despite the dangers, he remains steadfast in advocating for social justice and accountability in governance.
