Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu has weighed in on the bitter custody battle between music star Davido and his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu.
Taking to Instagram, Uche questioned Davido’s absence over the past two years, highlighting Sophia’s claims of abandonment.
Pay her 500 million Naira as an APOLOGY for all she has gone through if you want joint custody. Remove the case from court and settle it by involving both families. Davido, where were you in the last two years? According to Sophia, you didn’t see them, so you just think you can wake up one morning and demand joint custody? What about all the emotional discomfort and stress this good woman has gone through trying to play the role of father and mother to her child in those two years?” Uche wrote.
This custody dispute has been ongoing since Davido’s relationship with his now-wife, Chioma, began. Sophia has accused Davido of financial abuse and neglect, while Davido has filed for joint custody, alleging that Sophia is extorting money from him and denying him access to their daughter.
Sophia responded by revealing their past affair and denying his claims of neglect. She has also opposed joint custody, citing Davido’s controversial lifestyle and the tragic death of his son, Ifeanyi, as reasons. Davido, on his part, has criticized Sophia for repeatedly bringing up the tragedy to hurt him.
As the custody battle continues, Uche Maduagwu’s comments underscore the emotional complexity of the situation, emphasizing the need for a resolution that prioritizes the child’s well-being.
