Big Brother Naija Level Up winner, Ijeoma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has made a fervent call for an end to bad governance in Nigeria.

Taking to her Instagram page, Phyna expressed her desire for a new, better, and greater Nigeria. She emphasized her solidarity with the citizens in their push for improvement and declared that she stands for this great country and its people.

Phyna’s post resonated deeply as she sang the former National Anthem, highlighting her pride in being Nigerian and her refusal to be treated as a slave:

It’s time to end bad Government in Nigeria.
I stand for a new Nigeria.
Better and greater.
Aluta.

Stand for this great country, NIGERIA, and I join hands with the great citizens of our dear country to push for the betterment of our land
I AM NIGERIAN. I AM NOT A SLAVE.
Arise, O compatriots, Nigeria’s call obey
To serve our fatherland
With love, strength, and faith
The labour of our heroes past
Shall never be in vain
To serve with heart and might
One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.
Oh God of creation, direct our noble cause
Guide our leader’s right
Help our youth the truth to know
In love and honesty, to grow
And living just and true
Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace and justice shall reign.”

As Nigerians prepare for a nationwide protest on August 1st, other celebrities have also voiced their opinions on the matter:

Nollywood actor, Lege Miami, took to Instagram to urge youths in Lagos to reconsider participating in the protest. He appealed for patience, asking Nigerians to give the President more time to address the nation’s issues. He expressed concern that some youths might use the protest to create chaos.

Tonto Dikeh also penned a letter to her fellow Nigerians, expressing her understanding of their frustrations and concerns. However, she suggested that protests might not be the most effective method. Instead, Tonto proposed forming a representative group to engage with the President and advocate for the citizens’ needs.

Phyna’s call for an end to bad government in Nigeria reflects a growing sentiment among the youth and citizens who are tired of the current state of affairs.

As the nation stands at the brink of potential transformation, the voices of its people, amplified by influential figures could pave the way for significant progress and unity.
