Nollywood actress and box office queen Funke Akindele has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her millions of fans for their enthusiastic response to her latest project.
Funke is gearing up to release her highly anticipated movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa. Recently, she shared a video showcasing a playful tussle between the casts of Everybody Loves Jenifa and A Tr!be Called Judah 2, asking fans which film they would prefer to see in cinemas this December. To her delight, fans overwhelmingly chose Everybody Loves Jenifa.
Taking to her Instagram, Funke shared photos of the cast and expressed her excitement. “WOW! We’re overwhelmed with love! Thank you to our amazing fans for the incredible response to our ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ announcement video! Your kind words and excitement mean the world to us. Keep sharing the love! Don’t forget, the movie hits cinemas NATIONWIDE on December 13th!”
Just a week prior, Funke had also celebrated empowering 175 crew members for the film. Sharing a photo of the hardworking team on Instagram, she expressed her appreciation for their dedication over nine weeks to bring Everybody Loves Jenifa to life. She noted that this self-funded project allowed her to support a talented group, with 95% of the crew being young individuals showcasing their skills.
Funke Akindele currently reigns as the queen of the box office, having made history in January as the first Nigerian filmmaker to gross over a billion naira at cinemas with her 2023 film, A Tr!be Called Judah, which garnered over N1.4 billion in revenue.
