Nollywood actress and box office queen Funke Akindele has captured the admiration of many through her generous efforts.
As she gears up to release her new movie Everybody Loves Jenifa, set to hit cinemas in December, the filmmaker has taken content creation to a new level by giving back to the Lagos community.
In a video shared on her Instagram, Funke was seen distributing food items to people in various Lagos areas such as Shomolu, Yaba, and Mushin. Through her movie, she revealed her mission of spreading kindness across different local government areas in Lagos State.
Jenifa‘s joy is contagious! Sharing food, laughter, and love with our community. Sewing seeds of kindness in different local govt areas in Lagos state. First stops are (Shomolu, Yaba, Mushin),” she wrote.
Her heartwarming gesture has earned her widespread praise from both her colleagues and fans, who took to her comment section to shower her with prayers and words of appreciation.
Veteran actress Ebelle Okafor wrote, “You sow and you reap always. More grease, lady Funke.”
Juliana Olayode added, “Everybody Loves Jenifa, Jenifa loves everybody. God bless you, Mama.”
Others like Itele, Debbie Shokoya, and Phyna all praised her with comments like “Superwoman doings,” “God bless you, Maami,” and “Thank you so much, Mama. God bless you.”
Funke Akindele’s acts of kindness are not new. In June, she spent over two million naira on several Celestial Churches in Nigeria during the month of children’s harvest. She aimed to touch over 20 churches, each receiving one hundred thousand naira.
In April, Funke generously offered to pay for the education of a TikToker who had dismissed the importance of schooling. Funke not only persuaded her to return to school but also covered her expenses.
Her selfless deeds have been acknowledged by many, including her colleagues. Bimbo Akisanya and Alesh Sanni recounted several instances when Funke quietly helped others in need, whether it was funding medical treatments or offering financial support without seeking public recognition.
