Nollywood actress Regina Chukwu has reacted to reports of a tragic incident involving dogs that allegedly mauled a security guard to death at Pinnock Estate, Lekki.
According to the reports circulating online, a resident of the estate failed to properly lock his gate on Monday night, resulting in his Boerboel dogs escaping and attacking the security guard. The victim, who remains unidentified, was seen lying lifeless in a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @itzbasito, with the dogs still hovering near his body. The user explained that the dog owner had unintentionally allowed the animals to roam freely, leading to the fatal attack.
The Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident on his verified X handle on Tuesday, stating that the dog owner had been arrested and an investigation was underway.
Reacting to the news, Regina Chukwu expressed her longstanding concern about dogs, saying, “When I say dogs are wild animals, people think I am capping.” Her statement drew mixed reactions from her followers, with many echoing her sentiments.
Actor Yomi Gold also weighed in, cautioning people against walking at night in the estate, saying, “Don’t ever take a walk at night inside Pinnock Estate. Very dangerous.”
Other users shared their fear and dislike of dogs. Bimzeeluv commented, “I don’t like dogs for anything at all,” while Ozyoma wrote, “I hate them with everything in me.” Excel Signature added, “I hate dogs with passion. Damn!! I can stop coming to your house because of the dog. Call me a bush girl I don’t care.”
Several others called for the dog owner to be held accountable. Queen Oluwa wrote, “Charge the owner for murder,” and Jewelry Village2 emphasized her dislike for dogs, saying, “That’s why I don’t like dogs. Call me a village girl; I don’t care. So sad.”
