The longstanding rivalry between Nigerian music giants Davido and Wizkid shows no sign of cooling off as Wizkid has once again taken aim at Davido.
This time, he directed his criticisms at Davido’s latest song, Awuke, which has been making waves and dominating music charts.
In a recent jab, Wizkid referred to Davido’s song as “Ebuka” and dismissed the comparisons between their music. “Lol this one no be Ebuka o. Kese jor!” he posted. A fan questioned if the diss was aimed at Davido’s Awuke, to which Wizkid gave a subtle confirmation by liking the tweet.
The fan had written, “Na Awuke my Idolo dey call Ebuka,” to which Wizkid’s reaction left no doubt about his target.
The online music community erupted with mixed reactions. Some accused Wizkid of unnecessary pettiness, while others defended him, adding fuel to the ongoing rivalry.
One user, Purulee, remarked, “So una idolo no fit drop any song or album without dragging Davido now?”
Phil__ tweeted, “Wizkid has become an online troll. I wonder why people see nothing wrong with it.”
Rich Kinging chimed in, “Wizkid and bitterness are like 5 and 6,” while Ben_g1122 noted, “Omo, Davido do suffer for Wizkid’s hand.”
Others criticized Wizkid’s behavior:

Wizkid didn’t stop at one tweet. The Grammy-winning artist launched an extensive social media rant, taking multiple jabs at Davido. He labeled Davido’s career as “wack” and claimed those around him were broke, only staying loyal for the luxury trips. He further boasted about his superiority in music, fashion, and finances, emphasizing that Davido was not on his level.
Wizkid also mocked Davido’s self-proclaimed status as “001,” saying it meant little in terms of wealth and success. The harsh comments reignited old wounds, dating back to several infamous incidents between the two. One of the most notable was in April, when Wizkid shared a video of Davido kneeling and allegedly begging a side chick. In response, Davido accused Wizkid of domestic violence against his girlfriend and baby mama, Jada Pollock. The back-and-forth allegations have kept fans divided and the internet buzzing.
