Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, has found himself on the receiving end of a hilarious call-out from his daughter.
Taking to Instagram, the movie producer shared a FaceTime video of his daughter playfully reprimanding him for his dance moves, which she described as embarrassing to the family.
“Hello, Daddy, I know you’re trying to promote your new movie, but can you stop with the dance? You’re embarrassing the entire Okpocha clan. Just stop; your movie will sell,” she quipped.
Reacting to the playful exchange, Basketmouth jokingly shifted the blame to his online followers, humorously accusing them of putting him in a position to “embarrass” his children.
On Twitter, he wrote:
“See what you people have done now, making me embarrass my children. I used to think that I was the pride of my family.”
The post garnered humorous reactions from celebrities and fans alike.

The incident comes as Basketmouth promotes his latest project, A Ghetto Love Story. The comedian has transitioned into movie-making, revealing the challenges he faced, including raising ₦300 million within 24 hours for a previous film project. He also took a jab at fellow comedians who solicit funds during performances, encouraging them to focus on delivering quality shows.
Basketmouth is a father of three children—two from his marriage to his ex-wife, Elsie Okpocha, and one from a previous relationship. In December 2022, he announced the end of his marriage with Elsie, emphasizing a commitment to co-parenting and requesting privacy.
Elsie later hinted at infidelity being a factor in their separation, advising women with unfaithful partners on how to navigate such situations. In May, she addressed public pressure to reconcile with her ex-husband, asserting that leaving a marriage is never an easy decision and usually comes after all efforts to make it work have been exhausted.
Through it all, Basketmouth has maintained his humour and focus on his career, further cementing his place as one of Nigeria’s most beloved entertainers.
