Veteran Nollywood actress Hilda Dokubo has shared a thought-provoking message on Instagram, questioning God’s delay in bringing justice to those who misuse His name for personal gain.
Her powerful words have sparked speculation, with many believing the post may be related to recent controversies involving gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and her former label boss, Eezee Conceptz.
In her post, she questioned,
Dear God, why do you allow people to use your name in carrying out their lies and wickedness?” She also mentioned shouting “Christ” over 60 times in one minute, signaling the intensity of her frustration.
While Hilda didn’t clarify who she was addressing, many speculated that her post was linked to the ongoing Mercy Chinwo and Eezee Conceptz dispute. Her words seemed to reflect a deeper concern about the manipulation of religious beliefs for personal agendas.
Several followers weighed in with their thoughts, with one user, Daezy_Obi, suggesting that Hilda might be referring to controversial clergyman Pastor Jeremiah, while others connected the post to Mercy Chinwo’s fallout with her former record label. Commenters expressed varying opinions, with one questioning whether all parties involved had the full truth on their side, highlighting the complexity of the situation.
This is not the first time Hilda has made headlines with her comments. Last year, during the Mercy Chinwo saga, she criticized the singer for betraying the people who had helped her rise to fame, implying that power, wealth, and success often reveal a person’s true character. She warned that individuals could change once given too much influence.
Hilda’s frustration has also extended to the political realm. In 2023, she lashed out at Delta politician Okowa’s daughter after a controversial appeal to Peter Obi’s supporters, calling politicians confessions long overdue. She likened them to “local witches at Okere junction,” questioning the moral compass of those in power.
In a separate post before the 2023 General Elections, Hilda also criticized the shifting political landscape in Rivers State, questioning whether it was still a Christian state after political decisions seemed to contradict that claim. Her sharp observations suggest that the actress is deeply concerned about the intersection of politics, religion, and integrity in Nigeria.
