Honorable Natasha Osawaru, fiancée of legendary Nigerian singer 2face Idibia, has addressed the controversy surrounding the beads worn by the singer.
Last month, reports surfaced that 2face’s mother, Rose Idibia, publicly appealed for Natasha to remove the beads on her son, claiming they were influencing him negatively. The singer’s family even petitioned the DSS, alleging that 2face had been missing and was last seen wearing loungewear, further fueling speculations about the beads.
In an interview with journalist Stella Dimoko Korkus, Natasha explained the origin and significance of the beads, debunking allegations of any diabolical intent.
Natasha disclosed that the beads were a birthday gift from her mother and represented royalty. As a member of the Igbinedion Royal Family, she revealed that the beads, called EZENEKA, symbolize “a river that never runs dry.” She further shared that the pearl bead worn by 2face was an heirloom from her grandfather, a knight of the late Queen of England.
“Those beads were given to me on my birthday; they represent a Princess from a Royal family. The pearl on his neck was given to me by my grandad, who got it from the Queen of England. They are just traditional beads, and there is nothing diabolical about them. 2face liked them and decided to wear them.”
Natasha also clarified that 2face has always been fond of beads, having worn several others before this.
Natasha refuted claims of the beads containing juju or being diabolical.
“There is nothing to them, and they do not contain jazz or juju. He saw them, liked them, and wore them; that’s all.”
Natasha also responded to claims of substance use due to her vibrant and energetic nature. She noted that her youthful energy often leads to misconceptions but affirmed that she is simply a happy person.
“I entered the Assembly at 28, and I am 29 now. I am just an energetic person who is happy. I don’t care about baseless allegations.”
She clarified that she does not personally manage any social media accounts, as her team handles those for her.
Natasha emphasized that she is fully focused on her political career and remains undeterred by rumors or allegations circulating online.
“I stopped my team from telling me about lies being posted online. I am blazing through my career, and that’s all I care about.”
