Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo is leaving no stone unturned as she prepares for the grand finale of her daughter Priscilla’s wedding festivities in Tanzania. The proud mother shared her excitement with fans, posting a video on Instagram of her and her friends at the airport, ready to bring Nigerian vibes to the East African nation.
In her post, Iyabo declared her intentions to “paint the city gold,” emphasizing the Nigerian spirit of excellence and celebration.
“The Queen Mother is on her way 🇹🇿 Are you ready? I’m about to paint your city gold. Naija no dey carry last.”
Iyabo Ojo’s journey to Tanzania follows a series of elaborate wedding ceremonies for her daughter, Priscy, and her husband, Juma. The couple tied the knot in a traditional ceremony on April 17th in Nigeria, a grand affair attended by prominent figures such as Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Nollywood stars Sola Sobowale, Toyin Abraham, and Femi Adebayo, as well as celebrities like Peter Okoye of Psquare and Destiny Etiko.
Two days later, a more intimate white wedding was held at a beachfront in Lagos, showcasing the couple’s love against a picturesque backdrop.
However, the joyous occasion didn’t come without controversy. Iyabo Ojo revealed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had invited her for questioning about the spraying of money at her daughter’s wedding. The actress stated that she was shown videos from the event where naira and foreign currencies were sprayed, prompting the EFCC to remind her of the legal implications.
“I explained that I thought only the abuse or mutilation of the Naira was an offence. They enlightened me further,” Iyabo shared.
With the traditional and white weddings behind them, the final leg of Priscy and Juma’s wedding celebrations is set to take place in Tanzania. Iyabo Ojo’s enthusiasm and determination to represent Nigeria’s vibrant culture promise a memorable conclusion to the couple’s journey of love.
