Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has shared her thoughts on the recent opening of music star Davido’s new restaurant, suggesting that it would have been more meaningful if the eatery was named after his wife, Chioma.
In an Instagram post, Sarah praised Chioma’s culinary skills, pointing out that she is well-known for being a passionate and talented chef. She expressed that she had hoped Davido would celebrate his wife by launching the restaurant under her name rather than his.
Martins made it clear that her opinion stems from admiration and love for the couple, not from negativity or hate. She said:
“This is coming from a place of LOVE because I am a huge fan of OBO.
I honestly feel Davido’s restaurant should have been opened for Chioma or probably in her name because we’ve always known her to be a passionate, fantastic chef. So, I was really anticipating a day when Davido would happily announce Chioma’s (in her name) restaurant instead of Davido’s restaurant.
Again, this is not coming from a place of hate, and I’m happy for them regardless of who owns the restaurant.
Sarah added that a “five-star restaurant by Chef Chi” would perfectly align with and promote Davido’s “Five Star” album, further highlighting Chioma’s culinary reputation.
The actress has been a loyal supporter of the couple for a long time. She previously defended the pair during their wedding period, especially when journalist Kemi Olunloyo opposed their union. Sarah even trolled Kemi online, wishing her well in a humorous way.
Before their wedding, Sarah also extended prayers and blessings to Chioma, describing her as a good woman deserving of all the best.
