Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, formerly one-half of the defunct music duo Psquare, has shared an emotional message to his younger self, offering advice shaped by years of personal and professional challenges.

In a recent interview with Cool FM, Peter reflected on his life journey, emphasizing the importance of self-belief and cautious trust. He stated:

Dear young Peter,

Don’t trust too much.
Believe in yourself.
Remember, nobody loves you when you love yourself.
Family is blood-related; real family is loyalty.”

Peter’s heartfelt note highlights the lessons he has learned about relationships, trust, and the true meaning of loyalty.

This isn’t the first time Peter has opened up about family dynamics. Two months ago, he subtly criticized his family in a public message, warning against allowing family ties to become a source of silent suffering. He revealed how staying silent for over two decades cost him greatly, adding that love doesn’t manipulate, loyalty doesn’t betray, and family doesn’t steal from you.

The legendary music group Psquare, comprised of Peter and his twin brother Paul Okoye, has had its share of ups and downs. In 2023, the duo fell out once again due to allegations of financial mismanagement by their elder brother, Jude Okoye.

Paul later claimed in an interview that Peter orchestrated his and Jude’s arrest by the EFCC. However, Peter denied the accusations, asserting that Paul chose to side with Jude instead of joining forces to reclaim their position in the music industry.
