Nollywood actress Regina Chukwu has joined colleagues in mourning the passing of veteran actor Oloto.

Taking to Instagram, Regina revealed that Oloto, who recently played her father-in-law in her upcoming movie Ole, had passed away. She described the late actor as a true boss and mentor who played a significant role in her early acting journey.

“I was just informed that the actor who played my father-in-law in my new movie Ole has passed away. Oloto was my boss and a true one at that.
Rest in peace, Oloto!
Thank you for advising me to learn make-up while awaiting my breakthrough.
Thank you for personally handing me over to late Sisi Quadri to learn from him.
Thank you for showing up on my set, even on impromptu calls.
Thank you for your roles in Legal Wife, Ole, and Update.
Thank you, Oloto. Rest on, boss,” she wrote.

The Yoruba Nollywood industry has witnessed multiple losses in recent months. In June, film and stage producer Kayode Peters passed away in Canada, followed by actress Berry White, who died suddenly at home. In May, plus-sized model Monalisa Stephen died in Lagos after battling low blood sugar and internal bleeding. Earlier this year, veteran actress Nkechi Nweje passed on after a brief illness, while a month before, the industry lost veteran actor and academic Columbus Irisoanga.
