Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has cautioned fans of Iyabo Ojo after they dragged her online over recent shading posts linked to singer Naira Marley.
Angela had sparked reactions when she threw subtle shots at an unnamed colleague. Many assumed she was referring to Iyabo Ojo and flooded her Instagram comments with backlash.
Addressing the issue via her Instagram story, Angela clarified that her comments had nothing to do with Iyabo. She explained that she was actually talking about another actress who had previously asked for Naira Marley’s contact and later called her privately to apologise but failed to do so publicly.
“If you can apologise at the back and can’t do it publicly, then it’s a fake apology.
Stop pushing wrong narratives. I wasn’t talking to Aunty Iyabo.I was talking about someone who dragged me for Naira’s number. She called me for over an hour to apologise but couldn’t say it publicly.”
In another post, Angela told Iyabo’s supporters to confirm who her message is directed at before starting unnecessary online fights.
“Be sure of who I am talking to before starting unnecessary fights. Ndiala ndiala,” she wrote.
Despite Naira Marley’s controversies, Angela has remained one of his celebrity supporters. Just last week, she described him as a “sweet soul” and recalled how he surprised her during her birthday celebration years ago, which eventually led to a music collaboration.
In 2023, Angela praised Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh for fighting for justice for the late Mohbad. However, her relationship with Tonto soured after a heated social media exchange over Mohbad’s case. Tonto accused Angela of clout-chasing and vowed not to speak to her again until she issues a public apology.
