Nigerian singer Mr Eazi has revealed some of the principles that have shaped his success, advising young men to marry a supportive wife.
In a street interview with a Gambian content creator who met him and his wife, Temi Otedola, in London, Mr Eazi explained that having a good spouse plays a crucial role in achieving long-term success.
The music star added that discipline, patience, and the fear of God are also essential to thriving in life and business.
Speaking about the challenges he faced in the music industry, Mr Eazi noted that the experience of being doubted and second-guessed fueled his determination to succeed.
“The difficulty of unbelief when you’re being second-guessed, you could turn it into something that drives you as well.
If you’re born in Nigeria, more often than not, you have that drive to go get it, and you’ve got that self-belief. You just see it in a Nigerian—even in the way we walk—the audacity. Maybe, it’s in the eba and soup,” he said jokingly.
Mr Eazi proposed to Temi Otedola in April 2022, and the couple tied the knot in an intimate wedding attended only by close family members. The singer later confirmed in 2023 that the footage from his song Legalise was actually from their wedding in Venice, proving that they didn’t keep it a secret.
