Nigerian musician Keshinro Ololade, widely known by his stage name Lil Kesh, has reassured his fans and the public about his safety following disturbing reports of a violent robbery attack in Lagos.
Initial reports circulating on Wednesday had indicated that the popular artist, famous for his hit song “Shoki,” was assaulted by armed assailants who allegedly stole jewelry valued at millions of naira. According to media accounts, the incident resulted in the singer sustaining a stab wound to his neck.
Breaking his silence on Thursday, Lil Kesh took to the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to address the situation directly. In his message, he acknowledged the severity of the incident while confirming his recovery.
He wrote, “Life threw me a curveball, but I’m safe, healing, and blessed to be here. Grateful for the love, support and prayers.” His statement has helped alleviate concerns among his widespread fanbase and colleagues within the music industry, who had been expressing their anxiety and sending well-wishes across various social media platforms since the news emerged.
The incident has drawn attention to the ongoing security challenges in Nigeria’s commercial capital, though local authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the robbery.
Fans continue to express relief that the artist’s injuries were not more severe and have flooded social media with messages supporting his full and speedy recovery.
