Nollywood actress and filmmaker Adanma Luke has fiercely responded to a woman who accused her of killing her late colleague, Junior Pope, and wished death upon her 6-month-old baby.
The woman sent a direct message to Adanma Luke, urging her to confess to the alleged murder and laying curses on her and her generation.
Reacting to the malicious message, Adanma questioned who could speak against her when the Lord had not commanded it. She made it clear that she isn’t afraid of death and would not allow anyone to attack her innocent child. Adanma noted that despite being insulted and called names by those she had been good to, she had refrained from reacting.
Laying a curse on the woman, Adanma declared that if she were innocent of the accusations, her troll would eat her tears. She revealed that she had been off work for months, with no one asking how she was feeding her family or taking care of the victims’ families. The woman’s message, however, gave her the strength to return to social media, as she now has nothing to prove to anyone.
Who is he that saith a thing, and it cometh to pass when the Lord has not commanded it? Woman, I am not afraid to die, and I won’t allow you to come for my 6-month-old child who has done nothing to you. I have been insulted and called all manner of names, even by those I was good to, but I still didn’t react. You all want my enemy’s head to go down for you to satisfy your cravings. If I am innocent of all your accusations, may you eat your tears. I have been off work for months, and no one asked how I was feeding my family or taking care of the victims’ families. This woman’s DM gave me the strength to come back online. I have nothing to prove to you all, but believe me, you all gave me the strength I have now, and I honestly don’t give a fuvk no more. Henceforth, enjoy the monster you made of me because I won’t hold back anymore.”
Adanma Luke’s strong response came after Junior Pope and others lost their lives by drowning at Anam River in Anambra State while returning from a movie set produced by Adanma Luke on April 8th. Luke had received backlash for allegedly not providing adequate safety measures, leading to the tragic incident.
In her first public statement, Adanma disclosed that she had been traumatized by the incident, blaming herself for not being on the boat with them. She clarified that contrary to reports, she had provided life jackets and was still coming to terms with the tragic event.
Adanma further addressed false allegations, stating that she had been actively collaborating with the families to provide necessary funds, emphasizing that she is human and not heartless.
Recently, the Actors Guild of Nigeria faced backlash for lifting Adanma Luke’s suspension. The Guild had initially suspended her and all movies involving riverine areas and boat riding. However, barely four months after the incident, the Guild decided to pardon her.
