Spanish Actress Ana Obregón welcomes her granddaughter through surrogacy, fulfilling her late son’s wish of becoming a father. Ana’s son, Aless Lequio García, died from cancer in 2020 at the age of 27. Before undergoing cancer treatment, he decided to preserve his sperm to become a father someday. After his death, Ana decided to fulfill his wish, and their surrogate baby girl, Ana Sandra, was born on March 20, 2023, in Miami, via surrogacy.
Ana Obregón clarified in an interview with ¡Hola! magazine that the baby girl is not her daughter but her granddaughter. She added that Aless wished to have a child of his own, and she promised to bring his daughter into the world, which she has finally fulfilled. Aless’ sperm samples were stored in New York, and they haven’t revealed the surrogate mother’s or egg donor’s identity yet.
Obregón took to Instagram and shared her ¡Hola! magazine cover photo, expressing her love for her late son and granddaughter. The actress also mentioned that she failed to save her son from cancer but will take care of her granddaughter with infinite love. The child will be registered at the Spanish consulate in the US before travelling to Madrid.
