Titilayo, the mother of Big Brother Naija star Angel Smith, has shared a thought-provoking message directed at women as she proudly praised her daughter.
In a video featuring the duo, Titilayo humorously advised women that if they prefer to raise their kids in traditional ways, such as wearing wrappers, that’s their personal choice. She added that, for her, God knew exactly what she needed and blessed her with Angel, a daughter who has brought her nothing but joy and fulfillment.
Titilayo continued by expressing her gratitude, referring to Angel as her “twinnie” and “best friend.” The proud mother shared how she has never regretted the day she gave birth to Angel and remains thankful for their unbreakable bond.
In 2022, Titilayo had written an emotional note to her daughter, expressing hope that when the pages of her life finally close, Angel would be one of the most beautiful chapters. She described Angel as the best thing her hands have ever held, showing how proud she was to see her mini-me grow from a little spoilt child into a strong, independent woman.
During Angel’s time in the Big Brother Naija “Shine Ya Eye” season, Titilayo revealed why she encouraged her daughter to join the reality show. After Angel faced multiple setbacks and failed attempts at other ventures, Titilayo saw the reality show as a new opportunity for her daughter to succeed and grow. Despite challenges, including criticism from fellow housemates, Titilayo continued to stand by Angel.
At one point, Titilayo publicly called out another housemate, Venita Akpofure, for slut-shaming Angel. She pointed out that both she and Venita were almost the same age, and vowed to confront Venita after the show to resolve the issue.
Beyond being a proud mother, Titilayo has been open about her own struggles. On her 39th birthday, she penned a heartfelt message reflecting on the hardships she’s faced over the years. She revealed how she stood strong in the face of numerous challenges, fought to overcome the urge to give up, and continued to push forward despite her past failures.
