Nigerian businessman and auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, has been remanded in Kirikiri Prison until September 28 over an ongoing domestic violence case linked to the death of his late wife, Bimbo.

Last week, reports emerged that IVD was arrested at the airport while attempting to travel to Qatar. According to insiders, the arrest is connected to the ongoing court case over the alleged domestic violence that led to Bimbo’s death in October 2022. Sources claim the auto dealer was not permitted to leave Nigeria until the matter is concluded.

In the latest update, it has been confirmed that IVD will remain in Kirikiri Prison until September 28.

Reacting to the arrest, relationship therapist Blessing Okoro took to Instagram to defend him. She insisted there was no travel ban against him and accused certain individuals of bullying and intimidating him. Blessing called on the Lagos State government to intervene in the matter.

In another post, she claimed she was being pushed to reveal more, vowing to drop her “new character” and fully defend her partner. She maintained that IVD is innocent and being unfairly targeted.

IVD’s public image took a major hit following Bimbo’s death on October 15, 2022, after years of alleged domestic abuse. Since then, he has faced multiple accusations, including being responsible for her death, engaging in fetish practices, having multiple mistresses, and being linked to a shooting incident at Cubana club.
