Award-winning music star Ayra Starr has shared a strong message to Nigerians regarding the way we communicate our concerns about others’ appearances.
Taking to the micro-blogging platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Ayra expressed her thoughts bluntly: “Hope you know telling people they look tired is not cute?”
Her tweet sparked a variety of reactions from her followers, highlighting the nuances of how such comments can be perceived.
One user, Gifted Hands753, humorously remarked, “It’s simple. You look tired means have a nap. Gen Z, go turn am to insult.”
Another user, Ha Jimat, agreed, stating, “Exactly, it’s not nice; there’s a better way to say it.”
Conversely, Tonia Gram_ shared her perspective: “It means they’re showing concern. Abi is there another meaning I don’t know?”
