Banky W praises Ebuka Uchendu not for his fashion or fame, but for his unmatched resilience and consistency. The singer and politician took to Instagram to celebrate his long-time friend and media personality with a powerful tribute that struck a chord with many.
In his heartfelt message, Banky reminded fans that Ebuka didn’t win Big Brother Nigeria—he didn’t even make the top three. He placed eighth. But today, he stands as one of the most recognisable and respected figures in African media.
“He didn’t win the show, but he won in life,” Banky wrote.
Using Ebuka’s journey as a case study in patience, grit, and grace, Banky encouraged his audience to look beyond instant wins and understand the value of persistent preparation.
“Our job is to keep filling the jars,” he said, referencing the biblical story of Jesus turning water into wine—emphasising how obedience and consistency laid the foundation for Ebuka’s transformation from unknown contestant to household name.
He listed Ebuka’s many career moves—hosting Rubbing Minds, writing newspaper columns, pursuing a Master’s degree, and taking low-paying gigs that prepared him for bigger stages. All were unseen acts of diligence that eventually paid off when grace met grind.
Banky ended his tribute with a challenge:

In 2023, Ebuka himself revealed that life after Big Brother wasn’t easy. After investing in a degree in Entertainment Law in the UK, he struggled with disappointment and faded fame, leading to confusion and depression. Still, he pressed on—and today, he’s the face of one of Africa’s biggest TV franchises.
