Barcelona Offer New and Improved Deal for Gundogan

Barcelona have stepped up their efforts to land Ilkay Gundogan after seeing Lionel Messi move to Inter Miami. The Catalan giants are yet to make any significant move in the market as we approach the summer transfer window.

According to  The Athletic, Barca has offered Gundogan, who just won the treble for Manchester City, an improved three-year contract.

The 32-year-old German is out of contract at the end of this month, and his future remains uncertain.

Xavi has been in contact with the City captain and has already told him what role he envisages playing and how important he would be.

Supporters doubt that the improved offer will be sufficient to sign Gundogan due to the club’s inability to guarantee his registration under La Liga rules. Reportedly, the La Liga champions offered the German a three-year deal worth about 27 million euros, and recent reports suggest that they have now improved the offer.

Barcelona was eager to hear from the player’s camp following City’s Champions League triumph but is still awaiting a response.
