Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel - Munich eliminated by Freiburg

Bayern Munich has been eliminated from the DFB-Pokal in the quarter-final stage by SC Freiburg.  Bayern Munich struck first with Dayot Upamecano opening the scoring in the 19th minute with a header. However, Nicolas Hofler levelled just minutes later. But the tie was settled dramatically.

Lucas Holer’s penalty five minutes into added-time gave SC Freiburg a 2-1 win over Bayern Munich as they advanced to the semi-final of the DFB-Pokal.
Freiburg was grateful to the woodwork as Joshua Kimmich’s delivery was met by Benjamin Pavard but his header rattled the crossbar. With the game heading for extra time, they were awarded a penalty after Jamal Musiala handled in the penalty area. Lucas Holer stepped up to convert and sent them to the DFB-Pokal semi-final.
The Bavarians have now failed to make the DFB-Pokal semi-final for three straight seasons.
Bayern will look to continue their Bundesliga push as they take on Freiburg, this time in the league, on Saturday. Freiburg can draw within five points of Die Roten if they win.
