Nollywood actress Biola Bayo has firmly addressed and dismissed rumours of experiencing domestic violence during her marriage.
In an Instagram update, the actress clarified that her separation from her ex-husband, Seyi, was not due to any physical abuse or violent encounters, urging the public to practice kindness and avoid baseless assumptions.
The Nollywood actress took to Instagram to clarify that her decision to part ways with Seyi, her ex-husband, had nothing to do with domestic violence.
In her post, Biola emphasized that there was never any form of physical abuse in their marriage. She wrote, “My ex-husband, Seyi, has never laid a finger on me, and I never did as well. We never had any physical abuse or violent issues. Let us learn to be kind to people. You have no idea what others are going through until they say it.”
This clarification follows Biola’s earlier announcement of her separation. She had revealed that the couple decided to part ways in April of the previous year but remained committed to co-parenting their son peacefully. In her emotional post, she apologized to fans who might feel disappointed and shared the toll the separation had taken on her, admitting to many tearful nights over the past 14 months.
The separation came less than two years after the couple welcomed their son, a moment of immense joy for Biola after a long and challenging journey to motherhood. In 2023, the actress opened up about her struggles, including a failed IVF attempt, a cancelled surrogate cycle, and three unsuccessful surrogate attempts, before finally being blessed with her child in her 40s.
Despite these challenges, Biola remains focused on protecting her peace and raising her son.
