Chelsea Dealt Double Blow as Reece James and Romeo Lavia Remain Sidelined

Chelsea is facing a challenging period as manager Mauricio Pochettino delivers disappointing news regarding key players Reece James and Romeo Lavia. James, who has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury in a 1-1 draw against Liverpool last month, won’t be returning to the pitch as soon as hoped.

Pochettino provided an update, saying, “He’s recovering well and doing work on the pitch with the ball. He’s really keen to help the team, and I hope he can be available before the next international break.”

In addition to James’ prolonged absence, summer signing Romeo Lavia, who joined Chelsea from Southampton for £58 million, remains unavailable. Lavia was poised to make his Chelsea debut but suffered an ankle injury during the international break. Pochettino expressed his disappointment, stating, “We hope it’s not a significant issue, but we’re unsure about the length of his absence.”

While Chelsea fans eagerly await the return of these two talents, the squad is also contending with the unavailability of Armando Broja and Benoit Badiashile, making Pochettino’s task even more challenging.

The Chelsea faithful will be hoping for a swift recovery for James and Lavia as the team faces upcoming fixtures.
