According to Sky Sports, Pochettino is interested in Brazilian Neymar and has opened talks to sign the midfielder.
The Brazil national team has seen the former Barcelona attacker play over 120 times and score many goals. Ranking him among their highest goalscorers of all time. He has also won numerous honors at club level.
The 31-year-old scored 18 goals and 17 assists in 29 appearances across all competitions this season. But injuries and the club’s desire to offload several high-profile names could see PSG part ways with the Brazilian.
Pochettino, Chelsea’s present coach, has managed Neymar at PSG and could be key in convincing the Brazilian to play for the Blues.
Commenting on the attacker during his PSG managerial days, Pochettino heaped praise on Neymar for his contribution at the Parc des Princes:
I’m very happy with his state of mind, his mentality, and everything he brings to the team. e is a creative player, and, as with any creative player, you expect magic every time he touches the ball.”These players have a higher energy expenditure than others. It’s not easy and I’m thrilled with what he’s doing.
Since the arrival of Todd Boehly as the club’s co-owner last summer, Chelsea have spent over €600m. But with the likes of Mason Mount and Kai Havertz leaving the club, there could be room to sign Neymar.
