Chelsea has signed Jamaica international Dujuan ‘Whisper’ Richards, Fabrizio Romano confirms. Dujan Richards, born in 2005, will join Chelsea when he turns 18 — the talented boy joins from Phoenix All-Stars.
After carefully weighing up several options, the teenage striker had agreed to a pre-contract with the Blues.
Dujan Richards became highly sought-after when he scored 31 goals and grabbed 19 assists last season for his team.
The striker had attracted interest from Newcastle and reportedly been on trial with the Magpies, but has now decided to continue his career in London with Chelsea.
Richards has been with Phoenix for the past five years and recently got a call-up to the Jamaica senior team for games against Trinidad and Tobago in March.
His first start came in the second clash with Trinidad and Tobago, and he then completed 90 minutes against Qatar.
The youngster will hope he can make the team as Chelsea look to get back to their best next season.
