Chinelo Nwaa slams Ruby Ojiakor over what she describes as fake love and selective support in Nollywood. The actress called out her colleague for failing to show up or even console her during a painful time, despite being quick to invite her to her wedding and asking her to buy wedding outfits.
Taking to her Instagram story, Chinelo expressed disappointment, pointing out how people in the industry often expect loyalty and celebration but fail to return the same energy during tough times. She questioned whether people assume attending weddings is cheap or insignificant.
Una think say to go wedding na small money? Learn to reciprocate the energy people give you. People wey dey give me love know I can move mountains for them — right or wrong. That’s who I am,” she wrote.
The actress, who lost her kid sister, revealed that the silence from colleagues like Ruby cut deep. She said she finds it shocking that people can claim to love you, yet go completely quiet during your lowest moments.
“Nothing dey this life absolutely. Not for clout, but the fake love in this industry is alarming. Na im make nobody come my DM,” Chinelo wrote. She added that she’s not the type to hold grudges or beef people, but she won’t stay silent in the face of hypocrisy.
“I don’t know how to carry person for heart and be beefing you. I no dey do that one with you guys. I’m very blunt! Wicked souls. Soon na long rosary una go carry.”
This comes just months after Ruby Ojiakor’s headline-making wedding to filmmaker Moc Madu. The couple had their traditional marriage in February 2025 and tied the knot officially on May 31st in a lavish, star-studded ceremony.
Ruby’s wedding made rounds on social media — not just for its glamour — but also for the couple’s bold and controversial wedding reception exchange. Ruby publicly revealed that her favourite part of her husband is his private part, while Moc also picked her breasts and private part as his.
Addressing backlash over not holding her wedding in her home church, Ruby clarified that her husband is the head of their home, and she follows his lead.
Now, with Chinelo Nwaa slamming Ruby Ojiakor for her silence during her grieving period, it raises the question many ask quietly in Nollywood: how real is the love behind the scenes?
