Nollywood actress Chizzy Alichi has embraced a new phase of life following the birth of her first child, a baby boy. Sharing her journey, the actress expressed immense gratitude to God and reflected on the challenges and triumphs that have shaped her motherhood experience.
After months away, Chizzy made her first public appearance at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) Icons Night. The actress took to Instagram to share stunning photos from the event, describing the evening as refreshing and fun.
“About last night. I stepped out for the first time in months for Africa Magic Icons night. It was fun and very refreshing.”
Chizzy revealed her son, Kenechukwu, arrived prematurely at 30 weeks and spent over three weeks in the NICU. She recounted how a medical condition during her pregnancy led to frequent scans and periods of bed rest both at home and in the hospital. Despite the difficulties, Chizzy leaned heavily on her faith, engaging in prayers, charity, and acts of devotion to navigate the trying times.
“It was the most difficult time of my life. From when a medical condition was detected while I was pregnant to weekly scans, bed rest at home and in the hospital. I cried, prayed, joined different online prayers, paid tithes, and did a lot of charity. But God is too faithful to fail. Those who trust Him can NEVER be put to shame.”
Chizzy, who announced her pregnancy earlier with stunning maternity photos, described her life as a testimony. She expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming love and support from her fans and loved ones.
“My cutest Kenechukwu is home, and he’s perfect.”
Months before her pregnancy announcement, Chizzy expressed frustration at the societal pressure and unsolicited prayers for her to conceive, especially on social media. She questioned the insensitivity of such comments, asking if people understood the challenges she and her husband were facing.
Last year, Chizzy and her husband marked their 5th wedding anniversary. Reflecting on their union, the actress described her husband as the greatest gift from God and credited their strong partnership as a cornerstone of her happiness.
