American singer Chris Brown has been granted bail by a London court following allegations of a violent attack at a nightclub in 2023.

Brown faces charges of causing grievous bodily harm after prosecutors accused him of an “unprovoked attack” on music producer Abraham Diaw, reportedly involving a tequila bottle.

The Southwark Crown Court ordered the singer to pay a £4 million security fee immediately to facilitate his release on Wednesday, with an additional £1 million to be submitted within one week, totaling a £5 million bail bond.

Judge Tony Baumgartner approved the bail despite Brown’s absence in court, with conditions allowing the artist to continue his planned international tour, including UK shows scheduled for June and July.

Brown has yet to enter a plea on the charges. The £5 million security serves as a financial guarantee to ensure his appearance in court, with the amount subject to forfeiture if bail conditions are violated.
