In a recent Twitter outburst, controversial social media personality Daniel Rega stirred up controversy by expressing skepticism over Nigeria’s victory against South Africa in the AFCON football match.
Nigeria emerged triumphant in the match against South Africa, securing a spot in the finals of the prestigious tournament. However, Rega took to Twitter to attribute Nigeria’s win to sheer luck, criticizing the performance of the Super Eagles throughout the game.
Rega pointed out that Nigeria’s midfield appeared lackluster until the 62nd minute, and even thereafter, the team struggled to maintain dominance on the field. He went on to acknowledge the standout performance of goalkeeper Nwabali, crediting him for his exceptional contribution to the team’s success.
In his tweet, Rega remarked,
Nigeria won but by sheer luck. Super Eagles’ performance was greatly disappointing… South Africa played the better game, truth be told, but kudos to goalkeeper Nwabali. He alone did an excellent job.”
This critique comes in the wake of Rega’s recent condemnation of political figure Peter Obi for attending the Nigerian vs Angola football match in Ivory Coast. Rega argued that only entertainment figures should have the privilege of traveling to watch football matches, not political figures.
