Job Description

The Cost Controller will be responsible for monitoring and controlling costs within our Restaurant. This role involves analyzing financial data, identifying areas for cost savings, implementing cost control measures, and collaborating with kitchen managers and teams to optimize budget utilization.

Responsibilities

• Budget Monitoring: Monitor and review budgets for food and labor expenses, ensuring alignment with financial targets and operational needs.
• Variance Analysis: Investigate and analyze variances between budgeted and actual expenses, identifying areas of improvement and recommending corrective actions.
• Cost Control Measures: Develop and implement cost control measures related to food procurement, inventory management, labor scheduling, and waste reduction.
• Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports, cost analysis reports, and budget forecasts to restaurant management, providing insights and recommendations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen managers, chefs, and restaurant managers to understand operational needs, optimize menu pricing, and ensure cost-effective kitchen practices.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, food safety standards, and internal policies related to cost control and financial management.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Hospitality Management, or related field.
• Proven experience of up to 4 years in cost control, financial analysis, or restaurant management roles.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of restaurant operations, food costing, menu engineering, and inventory management best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with kitchen teams and restaurant management.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and cost optimization.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting discipline or related field
• Hospitality experience and/or hospitality qualifications is an added advantage
