Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan, now known as Truly Madrina, has reached out to fellow musician Davido following his loss at the 2024 Grammys.
The first-time Grammy nominee was nominated in three categories but did not secure any wins at the 66th Record Academy Awards held at Crypto Com Arena in Los Angeles.
While Cynthia Morgan admitted she isn’t a fan of Davido, she expressed the sentiment that a Grammy win for him could have brought about peace in the country. Despite her reservations, she extended wishes for better luck next time to the singer.
Not a fan of you but I feel say them for just huge you one make we got get peace for this country. Better luck next time my former fave.”
This message from Cynthia Morgan comes amid diverse reactions from the entertainment industry and fans following Davido’s Grammy loss. In a similar vein, crossdresser Bobrisky expressed pride in Davido, labelling himself as the singer’s biggest fan. Bobrisky emphasized Davido’s global status and influence, stating that winning or losing Grammys wouldn’t diminish his significance in the world of music.
On the other hand, Davido’s hypeman, Special Spesh, took a different approach by shading the winner of the Best African Music Performance category, Tyla. Spesh questioned the victory of a song about squirting over Davido’s contributions. He expressed reluctance to cede power to foreign influences in African music.
Despite the Grammy disappointment, Davido has continued to receive recognition in the music industry. His feature on Kizz Daniel’s song “Twe Twe” remix has set a record as the fastest Afrobeats song to surpass 100,000 Shazams in just seven days. A
